Having gone to all the effort to paint the chassis it seems silly to not also paint the engine!

Initially, we planned to paint the engine satin black to match the chassis, but we were advised to use a lighter color. This makes it easier to spot an oil leak.  After testing out various options we settled on Dupli-Color Ceramic New Ford Engine Paint Gray, with an undercoat of their Ceramic Grey undercoat. To match the chassis, we planned to use Chevy Orange for a few accent pieces.

Having removed the engine, now came the extensive job of cleaning the engine. 30-years of grease, sand, mud and paint jobs is not an ideal base for painting. Thus, begun the task of using multiple types of degreasers, general cleaning products, steam cleaning and plenty of elbow grease!
